Our campaign got some nice post-election coverage from the Newberg Graphic this week. Click here to check out the article!
"Shannon said he plans to "shake things up" and push for major reforms to the board's processes and to the system in place for Newberg students. That can be challenging on a seven-person board that is typically an apolitical entity containing a variety of perspectives, but Shannon is confident that he will deliver on his promises to voters. One of Shannon's primary objectives is to collaborate with stakeholders in the community who want to spark change in the school district. That includes local politicians, churches and other community groups, he said."

What an amazing night this has been! Voters have spoken and their message is loud and clear: The status quo is not working for our students. Our elected leaders need to work harder to find real solutions to the problems facing our schools, and it needs to happen NOW!
Thank you to everyone who supported me in this campaign. I especially want to thank my wife Samantha, who not only supported me emotionally, but lent me her amazing skills at web, social media, and graphic design to truly make this campaign come alive. I could not have done it without her. Now the hard work begins. Our community must unite around the urgent issue of school reform. If we come together, I truly believe Newberg can have the best schools in Oregon. Fixing our broken school system will not be easy and it will not happen overnight. It will require all of us doing our part. I urge you, stay involved, show up, and continue to make your voices heard. Now, let's get to work! I'm very excited to be featured in the League of Women's Voters of Oregon Vote411 Voter's Guide! Check out the Voter Guide here. Our race is under Zone 7!
